The action by the government resulted in public outcry and condemnation as many observers including the proprietor of the business believed it was politically motivated.
Reports say that the Oyo state government, led by Abiola Ajimobi has taken up the responsibility to rebuild the music house and construction workers have been given a deadline of December 2018 to put up the structure.
Mr Samson Akindele, Head of News, Fresh FM, confirmed the report and said “A lot has happened since the demolition in August. We’ve had a lull in the activities going on here. “Just about two weeks ago, after all the meetings and agreements, the ministry of works in Oyo state through the office of the permanent secretary and the commissioner came in to start fulfilling the promise the governor made that indeed the partial demolition was an activity done in error.” He also confirmed that the structure would be up in December to give room for Christmas activities.
Yinka Ayefele’s music house is located on Lagos-Ibadan by-pass, opposite Conoil, Challenge, Ibadan.
