Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has received “signals from American officials” to apply for visa and it would be granted, Gbenga Daniel, Director-General of the Atiku Presidential Campaign Orgsanisation (APCO), has said.  Atiku is widely believed to be wanted for alleged corruption in the US, and this is usually identified as the reason he has not stepped on American soil for several years.  However, Daniel, a former Governor of Ogun State, said on Wednesday that the corruption perception about Atiku “appears to have been flogged”, as “there have been signals from the American officials that he should indeed come forward; they want him to come so that they would grant him visa”.  "

This issue of corruption perception appears to have been overflogged[sic]," Daniel told Channels TV's 'Politics Today' when asked about the challenge of marketing someone with Atiku's image to Nigerians.  "I remember when we were running the campaign against the primary, and everybody kept confronting us with this perception; we kept saying the thing is no more than perception. Politically-motivated perception, which unfortunately appears to have stuck. POLITICS – Current update as the Nigeria President Muhammadu has said he is closely monitoring the Nigeria Police Force as violence rises in the country.

Meanwhile he also asked the force to remain vigilant in securing communities and diligent in prosecuting criminal offences.

Buhari, who gave the warning on Tuesday, also said he would not fold his arms and allow those responsible for the recent killings in parts of Kaduna State to go unpunished.

Buhari made the remarks during a condolence visit to Kaduna State. According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, the President expressed sadness over the loss of lives and property in Kasuwan Magani and around Kaduna metropolis.

He said, “If in the past, they (perpetrators of violence) got away scot-free, we shall now hold everyone to account for these latest killings.

“It is unacceptable that criminal elements can visit on citizens the wanton killings recorded in the Kasuwan Magani incident of October 18, 2018 and the unrest around Kaduna metropolis a few days later. This must stop.”

Buhari also appealed to community leaders including ward heads, village heads and traditional rulers to be closer to their people, urging them not to shield those planning to wreak havoc on the community from law enforcement agencies.

A husband and wife of ten years share their bed with a magician who helps them raise their two daughters, Mirror UK reports.

Bella and Ken, from Orange, Connecticut, had been married for five years when Bella met married magician Daniel at a party.

The two couples had group sex before Daniel divorced from his wife and moved in permanently with Bella and Ken to live as a ‘throuple’.

Now, Ken has another girlfriend who he spends time with when Bella is out of town working with Daniel as an assistant for his magic act.

Talking about the moment she met Daniel, 34-year-old Bella said: ‘At the end of the night, I don’t know why but he was about to leave and we were saying goodbye, and I kissed him.

‘I was like, “okay, I’m married and I just kissed another married man”. I was having very conflicted feelings about it, but I wanted to do it again.’

Though the college sweethearts were strictly monogamous, they discussed exploring having other partners and decided to get to know Daniel and his wife who were in an open relationship.

Bella, 34, said:

‘There was a lot of chemistry and we were like “maybe this is something that we really want to try”, so we invited them over, we talked a couple of times and we ended up all having sex, and we kind of went from there.’

But before long, cracks started to show in Daniel and his wife’s relationship.

Daniel, 33, said:

‘So her and I were together for a long time, and we had problems well before Bella and Ken came along. Unfortunately, something that I think polyamory does very well is that it highlights everything, and you end up talking about things that might have been pushed under the rug previously.’

In 2015, a year after the foursome had their first encounter, Daniel and his wife divorced, and the next step for Ken, Bella and Daniel seemed natural to them.

Bella said:

‘We were like “okay, well you can live with us now”.’

The newly formed throuple moved into a new, larger house together, and settled into a king size bed that all three share, and established their three-way bedroom dynamic.

Daniel said: ‘It’s usually the two of us, or the two of them, generally.’

Bella said: ‘It’s actually not very often that the three of us are together sexually.’

But sometimes, the two men will become intimate. Daniel said: ‘It’s an uncommon thing. It’s like cake – you don’t have cake all the time.’

Two years ago, Ken became involved with Laura, his own girlfriend who also has two children.

Ken said:

‘Laura is wonderful. She’s not involved with Bella or Daniel. She and I are involved and that’s her attachment to us.’

Daniel works as a magician and Bella joined him as his assistant, often travelling out of state to perform fire-handling as part of his act.

On jealousy within poly relationships, the group swear by communicating their feelings.

Ken said:

‘If you ignore it, it will breed resentment, and if you talk about it and you deal with it then maybe you can find the root cause and get past it.

‘I don’t know if it’s harder, it just means we need to talk about things more than sometimes you do when there is only one other person.’

When Daniel moved in, Bella and Ken had to explain it to their then three and four-year-old daughters.

Ken said:

‘They were really happy with it, and now they don’t remember before that. We share the responsibilities of parenting – parenting together in our own various styles and on the same team.’

Bella said:

‘The girls were playing with one of their friends and the friend kind of remarked to our little one saying “you have two dads and a mom” and she said “yeah, some people have two dads, and that’s okay”.’

Daniel said:

‘I never wanted to have children because I always worried about my lifestyle being too selfish for children, like that I would be travelling all over the place and bringing kids with you is a big problem especially when they are little.

‘So to have this situation where I can love these two girls and be a parent, but when I’m not there I know that they are taken care of and I’m not leaving one person at home to take care of all the duties is really nice and really comforting.’

Bella and Ken’s daughter Aurelie, seven, said:

‘My favourite thing about my first dad is that he likes to write books and I like to write books, and the thing about my other dad is that I like to do magic and he does magic.’

Two Eiye Cult Members Killed By Rival Gang In Ondo (Graphic Photos)

Two students of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State, have been killed following a clash between the Eiye and Aiye () confraternities.

According to reports, the incident occurred at Right Link Villa, Okanlawon Street.

The two Eiye cult members (pictured) were hacked to death and their hands chopped off as a sign that they were killed by the Aiyes.

Last week, at least one person was killed with several others injured when some youth suspected to be members of rival cultists clashed in Ijapo area of Akure, Ondo state capital.

It was gathered that many residents of the area and passerby ran for their lives when the cultists engaged themselves in a fierce shootout.

According to an eyewitness, the cause of the clash was unknown but the gunmen started shooting and running across the estate while one man was caught down and others with gunshot escaped from the scene of the incident.

He explained that it took over two hours before men of the state police command curtailed the incident but said the identity of the cult group behind the shootout was still unknown as at the time of writing this report.

Donald Trump To Terminate Birthright Citizenship

President Trump plans to sign an executive order that would remove the right to citizenship for babies of non-citizens and unauthorized immigrants born on U.S. soil, he said yesterday in an exclusive interview for "Axios on HBO," a new four-part documentary news series debuting on HBO this Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET/PT.

Why it matters: This would be the most dramatic move yet in Trump's hardline immigration campaign, this time targeting "anchor babies" and "chain migration." And it will set off another stand-off with the courts, as Trump’s power to do this through executive action is debatable to say the least.

Trump told "Axios on HBO" that he has run the idea of ending birthright citizenship by his counsel and plans to proceed with the highly controversial move, which certainly will face legal challenges.

"It was always told to me that you needed a constitutional amendment. Guess what? You don't," Trump said, declaring he can do it by executive order.

When told that's very much in dispute, Trump replied: "You can definitely do it with an Act of Congress. But now they're saying I can do it just with an executive order."

"We're the only country in the world where a person comes in and has a baby, and the baby is essentially a citizen of the United States ... with all of those benefits," Trump continued. "It's ridiculous. It's ridiculous. And it has to end." "It's in the process. It'll happen ... with an executive order."

The president expressed surprise that "Axios on HBO" knew about his secret plan: "I didn't think anybody knew that but me. I thought I was the only one. "

Behind the scenes: "Axios on HBO" had been working for weeks on a story on Trump’s plans for birthright citizenship, based on conversations with several sources, including one close to the White House Counsel’s office.

The legal challenges would force the courts to decide on a constitutional debate over the 14th Amendment, which says:

"All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside."

Be smart: Few immigration and constitutional scholars believe it is within the president's power to change birthright citizenship, former U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services chief counsel Lynden Melmed tells Axios.

But some conservatives have argued that the 14th Amendment was only intended to provide citizenship to children born in the U.S. to lawful permanent residents — not to unauthorized immigrants or those on temporary visas. John Eastman, a constitutional scholar and director of Chapman University's Center for Constitutional Jurisprudence, told "Axios on HBO" that the Constitution has been misapplied over the past 40 or so years.

He says the line "subject to the jurisdiction thereof" originally referred to people with full, political allegiance to the U.S. — green card holders and citizens.

Michael Anton, a former national security official in the Trump administration, recently took up this argument in the Washington Post.

Anton said that Trump could, via executive order, "specify to federal agencies that the children of noncitizens are not citizens" simply because they were born on U.S. soil. (It’s not yet clear whether Trump will take this maximalist argument, though his previous rhetoric suggests there’s a good chance.)

But others — such as Judge James C. Ho, who was appointed by Trump to Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, in New Orleans — say the line in the amendment refers to the legal obligation to follow U.S. laws, which applies to all foreign visitors (except diplomats) and immigrants.

He has written that changing how the 14th Amendment is applied would be "unconstitutional."

In an interview with DAILY POST over the weekend, the President of AYCF, Yerima Shettima explained that the emergence of Abubakar as a presidential candidate of the PDP was a good thing for Nigeria.

Shettima stressed that the former Vice President should emerge victorious in 2019 because the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has failed Nigerians.

He vowed to ensure that the current All Progressives Congress, APC-led administration does not stay in office beyond 2019.

Foldable / Bendable Phones: One of the new innovation and design to expect in the near future is the foldable phone. Over the years, there have been rumors of top brands working on developing a phone that can be folded. Top brands like Samsung, Apple and LG has been championing this development. The design concept of the foldable came from the popular flip phone which use to be the toast of young people a while back. These phones are designed to by flexible and can be folded or bend to shade.

With the rate of work being put on the development, foldable phones may just be months away from being launched. Some of the foldable phones expected in 2019 are the Samsung Galaxy X plus and Motorola Razr. Also, rumor has it that Apple, LG and Huawei are working on their own version of foldable phones and are expected to launch soon.

Transparent Phones: The concept of transparent smartphone first hit the internet back in 2009 with the launch of the LG GD900. Although production of the device was discontinued in 2012, but the development of producing a fully working transparent phone never stopped. Over the years, manufactures has pushed the boundary of production to the level, that our future phones may all start coming in the transparent form.

Just few months back, Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi launched the Mi 8 Explorer, a transparent back smartphone. While the device may not be a fully transparent smartphone, this shows that manufacture are still working on achieving that goal. In 2013, a Taiwan based company called Polytron, succeeded in creating the world’s first fully transparent mobile phone.

The prototype design was called the Polyvision Privacy Glass. The phone consists of a circuit board, fully functional SIM tray, SD card slot, microphone and camera. Fast forward to the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2018) Japanese tech giant Sony, introduced the all fully transparent XPERIA Z Pureness 2019.

The smartphone sport a 5.2-inch display with the resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, with 6GB/8GB RAM and an internal storage of 64GB, becomes the world first transparent bezel-free display device.

Breaking: Nigeria ranks 33 out of 54 in overall governance in Africa

Nigeria scored 47.9 in overall governance, ranking 33 out of 54 countries in Africa, the Mo Ibrahim foundation says. The 2018 Ibrahim Index of African Governance (IIAG) was launched by the foundation during a live event on Monday. Although Nigeria increased in ranking from 35 in 2017 to 33 in 2018, the country’s overall score dropped from 48.1 to 47.9.

 According to the report, this score is lower than the African average of 49.9 and also lower than the West African average of 54.3. 

The report stated that Nigeria received its highest category score in Participation and Human rights scoring 53.2 and its lowest score in Sustainable Economic Opportunies scoring 43.5. It further showed that Nigeria received its highest sub-category score in Participation snagging 62.7 and its lowest in Transparency and accountability scoring 34.5.
