“We Have Learnt Not To Take His Utterances Seriously Anymore” – Buhari Attacks Obasanjo,

The Presidency has dismissed the recent utterances by former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, as a sign of confusion not worthy of attention.

Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Wednesday, presidential Spokesperson, Garba Shehu, said that whoever Obasanjo chooses to support at the 2019 elections is irrelevant.

He said the former president had publicly changed his mind on the matter so many times over the past few months alone.

“Former president, Obasanjo denounces one person today and supports that same person the next day.

“When it pleases him, he brings God into the matter and uses that as his excuse for whatever position he has chosen,” he said.

Shehu added that he was not surprised that newspapers reported Obasanjo expressing neutrality at a weekend forum, only for the former president to express a completely different stance after a day or two.

“We have learnt not to take his utterances seriously anymore.
“We know that the slightest wind can make him change his mind again. After all, this is the same man who publicly tore his party registration card barely four years ago, and he now claims to be backing the same party,” Shehu said.

2019: Atiku reveals what he’ll do if elected

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has pledged to give women a strong representation in his government, if elected in 2019.

Abubakar made the pledge during an interactive session with Nigerian Women on Wednesday in Abuja.

The former Vice President said that he decided to have his first interaction with women because the PDP had never refused to advance or protect the interest of women.

“This is the first interactive session we are having with any group and this is to underline the importance of women as far as our party is concerned.

“Since you are about 50 per cent of our population, our representatives at all levels must reflect this population.

“Some will argue that gender equality is a deal that cannot be achieved overnight, I disagree.

“We can achieve it. The PDP almost achieved it until the government of the All Progressives Congress (APC) took over power.

“I stand before you here today and I want you to hold me accountable. I will commit to a strong representation of women in our PDP government and also recall that when I was the Vice President, I demonstrated this belief.

“I brought some of the brightest women into our government. Therefore, gender should not be a barrier.

“In terms of quantity and quality, women will play a lead role in our administration,” Abubakar said.

Abubakar, while answering questions, promised to put in place a financial programme targeted at empowering women to tackle poverty as well as establish a sustainable financial inclusion system that would address discrimination against women.

“For those of you who might have come from the same state with me, some years ago, I decided to set up a microfinance bank.

“I brought management experts from Bangladesh because Bangladesh is the best country in the management of micro finance.

“I gave them instructions to make sure that 80 per cent of the loans go to women and today that bank is one of the best micro finance banks in the country.

“We have moved out more than 45, 000 people out of poverty in my area. If you want to fight poverty, empower women.

“I am not talking politics, I am sentimentally and emotionally attached to womanhood,” he stated.

Abubakar also pledged to improve the country’s transportation system by improving the infrastructure including good roads, railway and airport to reduce accidents.

‘Two men controlling Buhari’ – President under attack as Aisha gets new appointment

Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of bribing his wife, Aisha following her recent revelation that two powerful people were controlling the nation.

Omokri said this after President Buhari, on Monday appointed his wife, Aisha, as a member of the Presidential Advisory Committee on the Elimination of Drug Abuse.

The Committee has the former Military Administration of Lagos, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa, retd, as its chairman.

Inaugurating the two committees at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the President called for collective action to help those enslaved by drugs build a new life.

This is coming at a time when Aisha stirred reactions from all corners after she disclosed that two powerful people were frustrating her husband’s efforts.

Mrs Buhari, who had made the claim at a conference organized by Project 4+4 in Abuja on Tuesday last week, however, failed to mention the names of the said powerful persons.

Reacting ,Omokri querying Aisha’s appointment, accused Buhari’s government of bribing the First Lady.

The former presidential spokesman, on his Twitter page wrote: “A week after Aisha Buhari raised the alarm that a Two man cabal is holding her husband hostage and taken over his government, her husband, President Buhari appoints her into the Presidential Advisory Committee on the Elimination of Drug Abuse.

“Will this bribery work?”

Kidnappers Kill Taiwo Akinyemi, Rufus Giwa, Polytechnic Lecturer

One of the four victims of last week’s kidnapping in Ondo State has reportedly been killed by the abductors six days after they were seized by gunmen.

The victim, a lecturer at the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, identified as Taiwo Akinyemi, reportedly died on Sunday.

Four persons, including the deceased, were kidnapped by suspected Fulani gunmen in Amurin village on the Akure-Owo Expressway in Owo Local Government Area of the state last Tuesday.

The three other victims, who are members of staff of the Federal Medical Centre, Owo have been released.

The corpse of the 52-year-old Akinyemi was said to have been found in a bush tied to a tree on Sunday evening. It was learnt that the deceased was killed by the abductors for the inability of his family to pay on time the ransom demanded by the abductors.

Following the development, lecturers and students of the polytechnic on Monday held a procession on the campus as a mark of respect for the late Akinyemi.

The state governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, was also on the campus of the school to commiserate with the academic community, and described the death of the lecturer as unfortunate.

Addressing journalists on the death of Akinyemi, the Chairman, Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Polytechnics, RUGIPO chapter, Mr Chris Olowolade, described the incident as sad and unfortunate.

He explained that the union had entered into negotiation with the kidnappers in order to secure Akinyem’s release, but “we lost him to the kidnappers and we received his corpse yesterday (Sunday).”

He added, “The kidnappers placed a ransom of N100m on him, which nobody could afford, but they reduced it to N7m after two days, and later grudgingly asked us to come up with N500,000.

“The money was taken to them, and the person who took it to them was directed by the kidnappers to where he should drop the money. They asked him to stop, reverse and move, just to confirm that he was the actual person bringing the money.

“But after some hours, they called that the man bringing the money should come back that they didn’t see it; only for us to be called by the Rector yesterday (Sunday) to go and identify a corpse.

“We rushed to the morgue and discovered that it was his (Akinyemi’s) corpse. He was tied to a tree with his clothes, and his remains were left in the bush. The body was recovered by the police and deposited in the morgue; he was treated badly before he was killed.”

The governor, while speaking to the staff and students of the institution, explained that the state government and the security operatives made attempts to rescue the deceased

He said, “It is unfortunate that the man couldn’t return home alive. The incident (kidnap) happened some five minutes after I passed through the place and I had to deploy some security men in my convoy to the place to rescue the victims.

“These kidnappers have become more daring and desperate; this is because we are moving towards the festive period; but the state police command has assured us that they will not limit their operation to stop and search only, but that they will also increase road patrol.”

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Femi Joseph, who confirmed the killing of the kidnapped lecturer, described his death as unfortunate, adding that all the other victims had regained their freedom.

Joseph said men of the state police command were on the trail of the kidnappers, but noted that no arrest had been made yet.

Daddy Freeze fight back Akpororo, Said his paedolalia on stage brought to light an absurd level of benightedness

Daddy Freeze has reacted to comedian, Akpororo’s attack on him during his performance at #TheExperience13, a Christian musical concert which took place in Lagos yesterday December 7th.
During his performance, Akpororo said if he were to be a pastor, he would have an annoying anointing that can turn people like Daddy Freeze into a wall gecko so he would stop talking and become harmless.
Daddy Freeze in his response said, ‘Akpororo’s resplendent display of utter ignorance could have been avoided, should the church have chosen not to employ the services of what would be regarded in civilized climes as a circus clown, to minister on the pulpit’.
Read his full response below…
Wow, “in fact I no wan see your bible, it’s working for me” really got me… Is #TheExperience now used to advertise the fact that bible study is no longer essential?
This public rejection of scriptural evidence, can only serve to highlight Apororo’s nescience of the subject matter, which sadly is in symphony with the untaught stance of most Pentecostal pastors, who subscribe to subjectivism in contradistinction to intellectualism.
However, my disappointment does not lie in Apororo, but moreso in Paul Adefarasin, who could allow someone so uncultivated in scriptural matters, address such a delicate issue as tithing on his platform, before the public.
Apororo’s paedolalia on stage brought to light an absurd level of benightedness that perhaps would have otherwise remained veiled.
Even Paul Adefarasin himself, despite more than 2 decades as a pastor, is still visibly struggling to acquire a more comprehensive understanding and as a result, offer a more punctilious thesis on the topic, without lending his endorsement, like most of his counterparts are, to emotional and sentimental assertions.
This resplendent display of utter ignorance could have been avoided, should the church have chosen not to employ the services of what would be regarded in civilized climes as a circus clown, to minister on the pulpit, which remains one of the huge demerits of mixing secular comedy with secular concert style events to attract a larger crowd.
Also, lest I forget, Apororo, it wasn’t a lion but a bear that attacked the boys in that Elisha story, read that bible bruv, it won’t bite you!

Jubril of Sudan: Nnamdi Kanu vows to release more proof of ‘fake’ Buhari in Aso Rock today

Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has vowed to release more ‘damning’ proofs to back his claim that a body double is impersonating President Muhammadu Buhari in Aso Rock.

Kanu, who said this in a post published yesterday on his official Twitter handle, vowed to ensure the punishment of the Nigerian and Sudanese perpetrators for the alleged fraud.

The tweet reads: “Tomorrow (Saturday) on Radio Biafra at 6 PM Biafra land time, I will continue to unmask Jubril, the Sudanese impostor that replaced late President Buhari in Aso Rock. The Nigerian and Sudanese perpetrators of this despicable fraud of the century must be punished.”

It is expected that the IPOB leader will address the members of his group and other Biafrans during the broadcast, where he will release more proof to back up his claim that the President is an “impostor”.

Recall that President had during an interactive session with the Nigerian community in Poland, denied the rumour that he was a fake.

He added that he would soon celebrate his 76th birthday, adding that “a lot of people hoped that I died during my ill health. Somebody just thought I am cloned, it is real me I can assure you”.

However, in a statement signed by IPOB spokesman Comrade Emma Powerful, Kanu vowed to release the details on or before December 17.

“Any moment from now and hopefully on or before the advertised birthday anniversary of Muhammadu Buhari on the 17th of December 2018, our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will send political shockwaves throughout the whole world on this issue of an impostor in Aso Rock. Events will begin to unfold in far more greater scientific detail from now on since the Aso Rock cabal have failed to speak truthfully about how Jubril was brought into Nigeria to assume the position of the president of a country of nearly 180 million people. There will be no escape for gangsters in Aso Rock,” the statement had read.

Catholic Church disowns Mbaka, bars priests from endorsing politicians

The Catholic Church has taken strong measures concerning its priests as the 2019 general elections approach .
The church bars all its priests from public endorsement of politicians.
This follows a controversial statement publicly uttered by Father Mbaka, saying the presidential flag bearers of the APC and PDP may lose the 2019 election The Catholic Church has reportedly distanced itself from the spiritual director of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, over his perceived politically charged statements.
In a viral video on the internet, Mbaka was seen telling the vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi, during the annual harvest and bazaar celebration of the church on Sunday, December 2, that neither the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, nor President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC), would win the 2019 presidential election.
Addressing Obi in Igbo, Mbaka said: “(Former) governor, listen, so that we won’t be deceiving God. As you are standing in the presence of these children of God, tell God what you will do for Him… It means you don’t want to do anything for God. “Let me believe in fear, but this is a political statement. God hates stinginess.
What I am saying is not for your pleasure. I am saying what will save your life, otherwise, you and Atiku will fail.
The way you and Atiku are moving will end in shame.”
However, the director of communications, Catholic Diocese of Enugu, Rev. Fr. Benjamin Achi, in an interview with The Punch, said the diocese was not in support of the cleric’s remarks.
When asked if Mbaka was still a member of the diocese, Achi said, “He is.” He, however, noted that it was wrong for priests to make political statements from the pulpit. Achi said: “The diocese is not in support of any priest making political statements.
The church is supposed to be apolitical and the Bishops’ conference has said that repeatedly. We are not supposed to make any political statements from the pulpit within the context of Mass, that is, church service.
“So, it would be wrong to stand at the pulpit to make any political statements. There is a document issued by the Bishops’ conference to that effect. So, he just spoke on his own, not representing the diocese.
“We are not expected to come out openly to support a particular candidate for any reason. The church law does not accept such a thing. So, it would be wrong for anybody (priest) to come out and give an endorsement to a particular candidate.” Achi noted that if necessary, disciplinary action against Mbaka would be carried out by the priest’s administrative head.
Meanwhile, Nigerian Tribune, giving an update on the development, reports that the leadership of the Catholic Church in Nigeria has barred priests and sundry religious leaders from publicly endorsing politicians as the 2019 general election approaches.
In a statement, on Tuesday, December 4, signed by Most Reverend Augustine Akabueze, president, and Most Reverend Camillus Umoh, secretary, respectively of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), the church declared that no priest should publicly endorse politicians.

The CBCN said: “We hereby declare that no Catholic clergy or religious should publicly endorse any candidate for political office.”

Terrified Teachers Luckily Escape After Their Car Was Attacked By Elephant. Photos

Two teachers had a lucky escape when a massive elephant tried to overturn their car.
Footage of the ‘attack’, which happened at the Jim Corbett National Park in Northern India, shows the angry elephant running towards the car.
Fearing for their lives, the teachers managed to abandon their car and run to safety as the animal continued to attack the vehicle.
Forest guards heard the commotion and arrived on the scene in time to see the elephant almost overturn the car with its tasks.
The rangers can be seen in the video shouting and waving their arms in a bid to scare it off, but it ignores them and sets about pushing the hatchback into a roadside ditch.
Eventually, one of the guards fires a warning shot into the air, which prompted the elephant to leave the car alone and wander back into the jungle.
The human-elephant confrontation happened on a stretch of road known as ‘Elephant Corridor’ which is closed at night to protect the wildlife.

Jubril from Sudan- Tolu Ogunlesi react on Bishop Oyedepo message about Buhari

Tolu Ogunlesi, one of President Buhari’s media aides has reacted to yesterday’s sermon by Bishop Oyedepo where the man of God addressed the issue of ‘Jubril’ from Sudan and its consequences.

In the sermon, Bshop Oyedepo quoted an article (a satire) from The Nation newpaper and concluded that, ‘If the President does not refute Jubril Al-Sudani, then he is not our president’.

Tolu Ogunlesi in his response said;

Olatunji Dare, one of Nigeria’s finest satirists, wrote a piece titled ‘?Buhari’s Double’ on November 27 and Pastor of one of Nigeria’s LARGEST CHURCHES cites the SATIRE in a sermon (apparently yest) as evidence PMB likely dead.

I know the Bishop has always detested PMB (its a free world, really, the right to dislike anyone is guaranteed constitutionally atink), but I don’t understand why he keeps going this far to peddle/amplify (from the pulpit) falsehood and disinformation about him. Really puzzling.

5 Artistes The Internet Has Produced (for The Industry)

The internet is increasingly becoming an integral part of music business around the world. Not only is it a platform for consumers to access music materials, it also allows creators get their art to be heard and seen. In the right hands, the internet, particularly Instagram and Twitter, can be portals to fame and fortune. Here is a list of 5 artistes who have used the internet as a portal to fame:
Mayorkun

He is now an established pop star with a befitting title: “The Mayor of Lagos.” Before his big break in 2016, the acclaimed singer was a young man with a flair for music, holed up in the banking sector. He recorded a video of himself making a cover to Davido and Olamide’s duet: “The Money.” Davido picked up interest in the video and it developed into a record deal for Mayorkun who seized the chance to actualise his dreams.

Teni

Her success story is a testament to the power of the internet in helping an artiste find an audience. Under Shizzi’s Magic Finger Records she started with posting freestyle videos and skits on Instagram. And around late 2016, one of her videos spread across the platform like wildfire, making her an Internet sensation and earning her a chance to switch to Dr. Dolor Entertainment where she has grown to become a big deal in industry. Interestingly, she continually uses her social media platforms to reach lovers of her art. She is a gift of the internet to the music industry.

Picazo Rhap

The YBNL new signee is another success story of the internet. He partook in the Instagram challenge of Chinko Ekun’s street-pop anthem, Able Gold, and his impressive rap skill caused his video to go viral. The rave translated into a record deal with one of the country’s biggest labels, boosting his profile in the process and making a talent to watch in the future.

Zamorra

The Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) graduate attracted some attention to himself with his creative covers; but it is the viral success of one of his recent “importanter” video, which brought him to the industry’s focus. He then released an official version that was welcomed by the public. Since the trend, Zamo Sings now walks in industry circles as one of the stars on the rise.

Temi Ovwasa (YBNL Princess)

Olamide himself was the scout who found Temi on Instagram. She recounted the story in an interview in 2017. “I used to sing and record covers of different songs, which I post on Instagram. In August last year (2016), I uploaded a particular video of a song and realised that Olamide had liked all my videos”, she said. The interest led to her getting signed and made her the YBNL princess whose announcement shook the industry.

The internet still offers opportunities to artistes. There are potential investors like Olamide and Dr. Dolor lurking around the streets of the internet looking for prospects; and millions of fans out there who would appreciate brilliant works of art if it is shown to them.
